October Haunted Happenings at Fairing Way

by Joan Reid, Marketing Coordinator

From start to finish, October was a fun month at Fairing Way! As the leaves began to turn, we embraced the fall and all of the seasonal gaiety that comes with it. In early October we started off the month with an Oktoberfest Beer Tasting event. Representatives from two local breweries, Old Colony Brewing and District X Brewing were on hand to distribute samples of their many varieties of beer – I loved the Pumpkin beer! We were entertained by Eddie Marando (decked out in traditional lederhosen) and his accordion.

A few days later, Project Manager Phyllis Delaricheliere hosted a Tattoo party for the ladies of Fairing Way – well, temporary tattoos, that is… We all had fun getting “inked”! (Good to know it will wash off in a couple of weeks.)

On Saturday, October 28th we held our Halloween costume party potluck. It was fun to see folks “let their hair down”, and dress in costumes for the evening.

The following morning we were “treated” to a Halloween parade of over 50 children from the Union Point neighborhood.  The neighborhood association holds this daytime trick or treating event for the younger children in Union Point.  We were delighted to meet Thomas the Tank Engine, Bat Girl and all of the other characters who live in our neighborhood - and they enjoyed all of the candy we gave out!
