Most seniors put off a move to an adult retirement community for many reasons but one reason we hear time and time again is that they just don’t want to leave home. It’s not the physical structure of home that keeps folks tied down. More often than not it’s the neighborhood that they don’t want to part with. This was an influencing factor with the selection of the location for our new senior community.

Kale, raisins and walnuts? Not necessarily a combination I would have put together but Liz and Katie from Whole Foods did and boy was it delicious as we sampled food at Fairing Way, an over 55 community.

Spring is in the air and we couldn’t be happier. The South Shore has been inundated with snow this season so it is nice to see some grass again! Winter reminds us that being a homeowner definitely has its drawbacks when it comes to shoveling snow and coordinating fuel deliveries. Home maintenance can really distract and detract from time spent doing the things we love and enjoy.

Following up on our “Staying Strong as you Age” event with Jennifer Logan from South Shore Hospital, Fairing Way recently exhibited our 55+ community at the South Shore Health & Wellness Fair at the Hanover, MA YMCA, sponsored by the South Shore Chamber of Commerce.

In March we were delighted to have Jennifer Logan, Exercise Physiologist at the South Shore’s own South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, MA visit us at our 55+ community’s Welcome Center.
