Happy New Year! Here's to 2016!

by Joan Reid, Marketing Coordinator

2016 is very special to us at Fairing Way, as this is the year that Phase 1 of our campus will open – our 104 Independent Living apartment homes, two-story clubhouse, and 46 bed skilled nursing facility.  We have been blessed by a mild winter thus far, which has given our builders, Dellbrook Construction, the opportunity to make great progress on the project.

A group of Fairing Way and Rice Eventide employees recently had the opportunity to tour the inside of the Independent Living wing, and were amazed at the progress!

UP UP AND AWAY - Framing

by Phyllis DeLaricheliere, Project Coordinator

Tuesday 10/13/15 -   Fall has arrived, and the tree line is bursting with colors seen through the framing for the new home of Rice Eventide's skilled nursing center. Looking out the Welcome Center windows, it is a bustling community of trucks, lifts, and workers, accompanied by the sounds of drilling and hammering. It's been a long wait for many, who are excited to see beams pointing up to the sky, framing the future for this 90 year old organization.

FOUNDATION POURED

by Phyllis DeLaricheliere

The foundation has been poured for the future home of Rice Eventide's skilled nursing facility respectfully named "The Dwyer Home" here at SouthField. This has been a long time coming and excitement is overwhelming for this state of the art facility where the exceptional care that Rice Eventide has provided for over 90 years can continue.

FAIRING WAY IS UNDERWAY

by Phyllis DeLaricheliere

JULY, 2015:  Site work at Fairing Way is well underway and sales are brisk, with very few units left for PHASE I.  The peat removal is now 80 % complete and the site is buzzing with trucks and activity.  Peat was 16 feet deep at some places, so removing it is a big job! The East side of the property is currently being prepped for foundation to be poured for Rice Eventide’s new state of the art Dwyer home skilled nursing facility that will be on the campus.

Meet our Project Manager, Phyllis DeLaricheliere

by FairingWay

Phyllis DeLaricheliere is the Project Manager at Fairing Way, the South Weymouth site where the William B. Rice Eventide Home has selected Rogerson Communities to assist with the development and management of a new master planned community of Southfield that will include 216 apartments, a clubhouse and a new 46-bed "village-style" nursing home.  Phyllis joined Rogerson Communities with tremendous professional experience in the areas of elder housing and elder care.

"I first became interested in elder care while working on a grant for Alzheimer's care and have explored my interest in a diversit of elder and Alzheimer's support services, housing, and care models.  I've worked a great deal both in the direct service and administration of housing and services for elders, and at every level I've felt I was achieving my goal of servicing a population of elders I care a great deal for," says Phyllis of her inspired past.

Phyllis has not only worked in a variety of assisted living and independent living environments, she is a renowned expert on issues facing caregivers of elders and indviduals with Alzheimer's.  With a Masters in Psychology specializing in holistic approaches to Alzheimer's care, Phyllis is a published author on the topic and an often sought after speaker and conference presenter.  Phyllis is currently working on a book about compassionate care for caregivers.

"I've met the most incredible people.  Not just the heroes who are the caregivers and the tireless professionals and the advocates bringing awareness and change to the status quo - but the aging people living their lives one day at a time wth dignity and grace and hope. There is a quality in the elders I've been priviledged to be exposed to in the past few decades, I've come to call them the "gracious generation" because that best describes the way in which they inspire me and compel me to secure as much as possible for the next generation," adds Phyllis about her passion for her work.

Fairing Way is the newest member of the Rogerson Communities family and Phyllis' commitment to the Rogerson Communities mission to provide lives enriched with dignity, longevity, and vitality to all elders makes her an inspiratin close to the heart of all her colleagues.  Phyllis can be reached at pdelaricheliere@fairingway.org if you'd like to say hello...she'd love to hear from you!
