The completion of Fairing Way’s final phase also represents the completion of Union Point’s first neighborhood, Southfield Highlands. Southfield Highlands’ residents enjoy Union Point’s 843 acres of open space and wildlife — perfect for hiking, biking and even birdwatching. In fact, Fairing Way residents were instrumental in helping the Wildlands Trust staff build and install bird boxes throughout the trails at Union Point this past spring. A Neighborhood Association regularly hosts social events in the community park. Residents recently enjoyed a discussion on the history of the Weymouth Air Base held at Fairing Way and they’re formulating their questions for an upcoming Candidates’ Night featuring candidates running in this fall’s Weymouth town elections!

Dr. Gary Hylander’s monthly lectures are one of Fairing Way’s most popular offerings. “I wish I had known him in high school,” Fairing Way resident Pat Flynn says of Gary. “I lived a whole lifetime not knowing how much I love history!”
Gary earned his PhD at Boston College and has been a professor of history at Framingham State University and Stonehill College, as well as a public affairs commentator on local cable news and radio. He knows American history inside and out, has an amazing recall of details and facts and is as much fun to watch as he is to hear.
“He’s energetic, not dry at all, and makes learning about history fun and interesting,” she adds. Gary is planning a six-week offering for Fairing Way residents on Friday mornings beginning in February. “Fords, Flappers and Fitzgerald” will explore the exciting 1920s.
Participation is limited. Call Fairing Way at 781-660-5000 to join this thought-provoking history adventure.
On June 26th, Fairing Way, many witnessed the beautiful ceremonial laying of the cornerstone. Fairing Way, (both current and future residents), the William B. Rice Board of Directors, President and CEO of Rogerson Communities Walter J. Ramos, State Senator Patrick O'Connor, and many more were all in attendance. The laying of the cornerstone was symbolic for new beginnings, here at Fairing Way. Construction on the final phase has commenced and will be adding 107 more superior apartment homes. Preconstruction sales have already reached 60%. Projected construction time for Phase II is 15 months. Our finance partners, East Boston Savings and Eastern Bank as well as Dellbrook/JKS Construction have been committed to this project from the beginning and dedicated to bringing the last phase to completion by April 30, 2020.
Phase I of Fairing Way opened in December of 2016 with 104 residential units and has maintained 100% occupancy. Both Phase I and Phase II, current and future residents, will be able to enjoy two clubhouses, a movie theater, bistro, sunset screened porch, art studio, a state-of-the-art fitness center, dining room, library, and much more. Residents enjoy their apartment-style homes that feature contemporary design and oversized windows which offer plenty of natural light and expansive views of surrounding natural area.
