Featured Neighbor:

Rick Gallagher

Hometown: Weymouth, MA

Rick has been a Weymouth resident since 1954. Before moving to Fairing Way, he lived in his previous home for over 50 years. He and his wife raised their family in Weymouth -- including daughter Robin, pictured here with him.

Rick is a friendly and outgoing man, bringing cheer wherever he goes. He’s been active in the same bowling league for over 55 years, frequently goes out to dinner with friends and loves a good sing-a-long.

In fact, he’s the social director within his group of friends, the one who makes all the plans for get-togethers.

After his retirement, Rick took a part-time job at Olden’s Pharmacy (here in Weymouth), and has been delivering prescriptions to shut-ins and residents of assisted living facilities for the last ten years. He lost his wife five years ago, but remains very close with both his daughter Robin in Scituate and son Rick in South Weymouth.

In addition to his part-time job, Rick also babysits for his grandchildren. When he heard about Fairing Way, he attended a brunch event with Robin and decided to reserve a unit.

Now in his new apartment home at Fairing Way, Rick has been able to let go of the stress of home maintenance, while staying close to friends and family. He's made lots of new friends, and has lead a few sing-a-longs for his fellow residents!

Joan Prezioso

Joan Prezioso

Ask Founding Member Joan Prezioso why she wanted to live at Fairing Way, and she doesn’t hesitate: the Rice Eventide connection.

Joan cared for her mother as Florence’s health deteriorated. “It could be overwhelming. By making the decision to move to Fairing Way, I never have to move again and [my kids] won’t have to worry about where I’m going.”

Frank & Lorraine Gasbarro

Frank & Lorraine Gasbarro

The Gasbarros had visited other retirement communities in their search, but none compared to  Fairing Way and the exceptional value of living within the vibrant, multi-generational neighborhood of SouthField.

Frank explains, "We wanted nothing more to do with home ownership. Having everything taken care of was huge."

Elaine LaCroix

Elaine LaCroix

Elaine was a long-time resident of Stoneham and thoroughly enjoys keeping fit and staying healthy both physically and mentally. During her career, she was focused on treating injured workers through the worker's compensation program of Massachusetts. Now at Fairing Way she is focusing on her own strength and mobility.

Janet Murphy

Janet Murphy

What about Fairing Way inspired Janet to make a deposit? Janet said, “This is an exciting idea. I can live in a 55-plus apartment community but still be part of a larger neighborhood with people of all ages, especially children.”
